Trine's Jillian Rejczyk Secures MIAA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week

FREELAND, Mich. – Senior goalie Jillian Rejczyk [Wauconda, Ill. / Wauconda] of the Trine University women's lacrosse team was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Woman's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Rejcyzk recorded a career-high 15 saves in a 12-11 overtime loss at home versus the College of Wooster on Wednesday night. She played over 64 minutes in net in the driving rain that delayed the game for nearly one hour. In the team's 18-4 victory at Wartburg College on Sunday, Rejczyk had four first half saves before being removed with the team ahead 14-2. With 42 saves so far this season, she is closing in on the top five in career saves in program history.

The Thunder are off this week and will prepare for the MIAA opener at home versus Calvin University on Saturday, April 9. The 12 pm contest will also serve as Senior Day.
