MIAA Women's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week Award Goes to Hoag

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Brooke Hoag of the Trine University women's lacrosse team was selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week after her record-breaking performance in the team's season opener.

Hoag, a junior midfielder from Portage, Michigan, caused eight turnovers in a 14-9 victory over Bethel University to break the program record for most in a game. Hoag also had 10 draw controls in the center circle to pace the squad. Defensively, she picked up six ground balls to tie her for the team lead.

Hoag was productive on the offensive end of the field as well. She scored four goals to tie her career-high and tie her for the most in the game for the Thunder.

Trine remains at home for game two of the season on Wednesday, February 28. The Thunder play Ohio Northern University beginning at 7 p.m.
