MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, MI- The Trine wrestling team opened up their season this past weekend. They traveled up to Muskegon Community College to participate in the Ben McMullen Open. The Thunder brought home three place winners; Mack Green (3rd), Brandon Preston (2nd), and Micheal Connor (1st).
Mack Green participated in the 285 pound class. He finished his day 5-1, which was good enough for him to place 3rd place. Brandon Preston performed at a high level as well, where he went 3-1 in his matches. His high performance helped place him at second place in the 141 weight class. Micheal Connor was the big winner for Trine on the day where he went 4-0. He finished 1st in the 197 weight class.
The Thunder’s next match is the Trine Open Saturday, Nov. 16 at home. The event begins at 9 am.
