Pete Willson Invitational Day One Results

WHEATON, ILL.-- Brandon Preston locked up a top-eight finish to highlight the Trine wrestling team's performance in day one of the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational, held Friday at Wheaton College.

Preston (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) compiled a 2-1 record while wrestling in 133-lb class. After receiving a first-round bye, the junior defeated Nick Miceli of the Milwaukee School of Engineering by major decision, 10-1. Preston was then sent to the consolation bracket after dropping a 5-3 decision to Joseph Her of UW-Parkside. Preston capped off his day with a 7-5 win by decision over Lance Fabry of UW-Stevens Point. Preston's opening match tomorrow will come against Heidelberg's Colin McDermitt. He could lock finish as high as third-place with three victories tomorrow.

The Pete Willson Invitational concludes tomorrow at Wheaton College.
