Pair of Thunder Wrestlers Appear in National Rankings

ANGOLA, IND.-- Trine's Mack Green and Brandon Preston appear in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association and d3wrestle.com national rankings, which were released Wednesday.

Green (Buchanan, Mich./Buchanan) is ranked third in the nation in the heavyweight class by both ranking services. The senior is off to an 11-1 start to the season, with a first-place finish in the Trine Invitational to his credit. The reigning All-American also finished third in the season-opening Ben McMullen Open at Muskegon Community College.

Preston (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) is ranked ninth in the nation in the 133-lb class by the NWCA, and is listed in the Contender rankings by d3wrestle.com. Preston competed at 141-lbs in the Ben McMullen Open. The senior is 3-1, with his lone defeat coming due to injury.

Trine returns to the mats this Saturday, Nov. 22 when they travel to Olivet for the Comet Duals. The Thunder will face Wisconsin-Whitewater, Davenport, and Heidelberg. Matches begin at 10 a.m.

*Please note that the NWCA rankings incorrectly list Preston and Green as juniors. They are both seniors.
