Thunder Face Division-II Foes at Midwest Classic

INDIANAPOLIS-- The Trine wrestling team faced Division II competition in the Midwest Classic, hosted Saturday by the University of Indianapolis.

Trine wrestlers notched three wins on the day to finish in 25th-place in the event. All victories by Thunder wrestlers came against Division-II competition. Leading the way in scoring for Trine was 133-lb wrestler Brandon Preston (Logansport, Ind./Logansport). The senior earned the team four points, pinning an opponent from Lindenwood University in just 40 seconds. The two-time National Qualifier finished the day 1-2.

Jeffrey Helm (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) picked up a victory by medical forfeit in the 141-lb class. The freshman now has seven wins on the season. Adam Boles (Pittsboro, Ind./Tri West) picked up a victory by 8-3 decision at 157 lbs.The win was Boles' fourth on the year.
