Two Thunder Wrestlers Appear in National Rankings

ANGOLA, Ind.-- A pair of Trine wrestlers appear in the latest D3wrestle.com national rankings, released Wednesday.

Mack Green (Buchanan, Mich./Buchanan is ranked second in the nation in the heavyweight class. Brandon Preston (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) is listed as a contender at 133-lbs. The pair of seniors have combined for a 35-6 record this season.

Green owns a 25-2 record, and has won eight-straight matches dating back to a loss to no. 1 ranked Cody Lovejoy of Ohio Northern University. The senior has won eight matches by pin. He has finished first in his class at the Trine Invitational and Elmhurst College's Al Hanke Invitational. Green is a reigning All-American after placing fifth in the nation last season.

Preston has won all five of his matches since returning fully from injury. The senior owns a 10-4 record, including two wins by pin. His most recent tournament performance resulted in a first-place finish in the Al Hanke Inivtational. Preston was a National Championship qualifier last season.

Trine travels to Wheaton College's Pete Willson Invitational this weekend. Matches begin at 11 a.m. Friday, with wrestlers from 32 teams competing in the event.
