ANGOLA, Ind.-- Trine was defeated by no. 12 Alma, 30-10 in a dual match Friday night in Hershey Hall.
The Thunder got wins from Brandon Preston (Logansport, Ind./Logansport), Michael Conner (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) and Mack Green (Buchanan, Mich./Buchanan) in the match. Trine falls to 2-9 on the season in dual matches. The Scots improved to 12-6 in duals.
Conner earned the most convincing victory of the night, picking up the 8-0 win by major decision. The win was the junior's 25th of the season. He scored six points via takedowns.
Preston built a comfortable 7-1 lead on two near falls, a takedown and an escape on his way to the 8-3 victory by decision. He picked up his 15th victory of the season.
Green earned his 30th victory of the season by 3-0 decision. The senior scored a two-point reversal and was awarded a point for riding time. The no. 2-ranked heavyweight in the nation is now 30-3 on the season.
Trine returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 10 when they travel to Olivet for a dual match at 7 p.m.
