CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Trine wrestling was defeated by No. 6 Wabash, 45-5, in a Thursday night dual in the Allen Center.
Brendan Stevens (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) went to work right away in the first period against Wabash's Allen Betts, going up 8-0. The Thunder freshman had the first takedown then scored six back points off his pinning combinations. Stevens continued his dominating performance in the second period going right back to where he left off, quickly getting an escape to a takedown. Stevens tech fall Bettis, 16-0, to give Trine five points in the dual.
The Thunder returns to the mats when it travels to Wheaton College for the Pete Willson Invitational Saturday Jan. 28. Matches will begin at 10 a.m
