Wrestling Wraps Up Season at Midwest Regional Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The Trine wrestling team wrapped up competition at the DIII Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum.

 

The Thunder advanced Brendan Stevens and Austin Farrell to day two. Stevens (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) lost his first match on Saturday to Ohio Northern's Seth Transue at 125 pounds to finish his tournament. Farrell (Hopkins, Mich./Allegan) was tied with North Central College's Matt Marcotte, 3-3, at the end of regulation at 174 pounds, but Marcotte won the match on a 1:20 of riding time.

 

Trine finished the weekend in 15th place.

 

The NCAA Division III Midwest Regional wrapped up the 2016-17 season for the Trine wrestling team.
