OLIVET, MICH. -- The Trine University wrestling team fell to Olivet (Mich.) College, 35-9, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match in Olivet, Mich.
The Thunder captured two individual matchups on the night in senior Caleb Maddox (Russiaville, Ind./Western) and junior Luke Carver (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis).
Maddox won his 141-pound match against Andrew Castaneda via decision by a final score of 9-6.
Carver earned six of the team's nine total points with a pin against Olivet's Kamyab Kamali at 184 pounds in a time of 4:30.
Trine is scheduled to travel to North Manchester, Ind. on Saturday, Jan. 12 to compete in the Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester University. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
