ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine University wrestling team defeated Ancilla College, 45-5, in dual meet action at Hershey Hall in Angola, Ind.
Trine captured all but two of the individual matches, including winning three bouts via pinfall. Sophomore Owen Conklin (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison), senior Nick Miller (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider) and senior Luke Carver (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis) all recorded pins against their opponents in their respective matches. Conklin recorded the first pin of the day at 165 pounds in a time of 4:59. Miller followed with a pin at 174 pounds in a time of 4:50 and Carver needed 1:41 to pin his opponent (Jordy Garcia).
Junior Riley Rasler (LaGrange, Ind./Prairie Heights) defeated Ancilla's Ryan Perez in the 157-pound bout by technical fall with a score of 18-0.
Freshman Justin Davis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) captured four team points in his respective match with a major decision victory against Nelson Roberts by a final score of 9-0.
The other remaining wins for the Thunder all came via forfeit to round out the team scoring for a final of 45-5.
Up next for Trine will be the Ohio Northern University Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 7 in Ada, Ohio. The day is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
