NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. -- The Trine University wrestling team fell just short against Manchester University, 27-23, in the final dual match of the season in North Manchester, Ind.
Trine had a pair of competitors win their respective matches by pinfall in senior Luke Carver (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis) and freshman Matthew Abraham (Seven Hills, Ohio/Padua Franciscan).
Junior Riley Rasler (LaGrange, Ind./Prairie Heights) defeated his opponent in the 149-pound match by tech fall with a final score of 15-0 to earn five team points.
The remaining points earned came via a pair of decision victories by freshman Anthony Eberle (Huntertown, Ind./Carroll) and senior Nick Miller (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider). Eberle captured his 125-pound match against Manchester's Josh Stephenson by a final of 11-5. Miller took an 8-4 win against Tyler Leonhard in the 174-pound bout.
The Thunder wrestlers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15 when they compete in the Mid-States Invitational hosted by Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind. The day is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
