Three Advance to Day Two of Central Regional

ADA, Ohio – Three members of the Trine University men's wrestling team will compete on the second and final day of the 2024 NCAA Division III Central Regional, with a chance to secure a spot at the National Championship.

Joseph Langeman became the first grappler to advance to the second day of competition, wrestling at 133. After an opening round bye, the senior secured a pin in his first match of the day to advance to the quarterfinals. There he fell by decision moving to the consolation side of the bracket. Another pin secured him a spot in the final eight and another day of wrestling.

In the 149 bracket, Isaac Hawkins also won his first round, coming by forfeit. He dropped a match in the quarterfinals to a familiar face from Albion, falling to the consolation side. He secured a spot in the final eight with a pin of his own.

Lakin Webb made it three for the Thunder. He lost his first match of the day in the 165 bracket, moving immediately to the consolation bracket. From there he posted a pair of first period pins to reach the final eight and day two.

The three will need a perfect day on Saturday, March 2 to reach the national tournament. The top-three finishers in each bracket advance to the final location, this year in La Crosse, Wis.
