LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Senior Joseph Langeman made the first appearance by a Trine University men's wrestler at the NCAA Division III Championships in nine seasons, bowing out after two losses to difficult opponents.
Langeman opened his day at nationals with the toughest of draws facing off with the top-seeded grappler in the 133 weight class. Langeman earned a pair of escape points during the match but gave up two takedowns and a smattering of other points to fall in a 9-2 decision.
Dropping to the consolation bracket, Langeman faced elimination from the tournament in a match against the eighth-seeded wrestler from Ithaca College. The opposition scored a quick takedown in the match and then was able to turn Langeman and earn the pin.
