Thunder Fall to Rose-Hulman to Even Record

FRANKLIN, IND.-- An early goal proved too much for the Trine women's soccer team to overcome, as the Thunder fell to Rose-Hulman 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Faught Stadium.

Kate Kasch scored 4:59 into the contest on a shot from the right side for the lone goal of the match. Hayley Gilliam picked up the assist on the tally. Rose-Hulman held a 13-6 advantage in shots, including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Engineers improved to 2-0 with the victory. Trine concludes the Franklin Invitational with a 1-1 record, after defeating Franklin 4-3 yesterday.

Lucinda Combs earned the shutout, making four saves to improve to 2-0. Skyler Reed (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) was charged with the loss, but made three saves in the first half. Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) stopped four shots in the second half in her Trine debut.

The Thunder return to action Tuesday, Sep. 2 at Manchester at 4:30 p.m.
