ALBION, MICH.-- Jenna Urso's overtime goal lifted Albion to a 2-1 victory over Trine in MIAA-action Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Urso's tucked a shot into the lower left corner of the goal 1:45 into overtime to send the Britons home victorious. The goal was the Urso's second of the match and sixth of the season. Jamie McCarrell (Jackson, Mich./Jackson) scored the Thunder goal. Trine outshot Albion by a 10-8 margin. The Thunder fall to 4-4-1 overall and 2-3-1 in MIAA play.
After a scoreless first half, Urso got the Britons on the board a little over 20 minutes into the second half with her first goal of the match. Trine had the answer with just under 15-minutes to play, as McCarrell scored her second goal of the season to tie the match.
Maggie Troost played the full 91:45 in net for Albion, making four saves to receive credit for the victory. Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) made three saves in her first collegiate start for Trine.
The Thunder return to action Wednesday, Oct. 1 when they host Alma at 4 p.m.
