Late Goal Leads Belles Over Trine

SOUTH BEND, IND.-- A goal in the closing minutes led St. Mary's to a 1-0 victory over Trine in MIAA-action Saturday afternoon at the SMC Soccer Field.

Liza Felix's goal with 1:56 remaining provided the winning-margin for the Belles. Maggie McLaughlin picked up the assist with a flick pass to Felix, buried it in the back of the net from six yards out. Chanler Rosenbaum made three saves to earn the shutout for SMC. The Belles outshot Trine by an 18-7 margin. Saint Mary's improves to 4-7-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the MIAA. The Thunder fall to 4-6-1, 2-5-1 in conference play.

Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) made eight saves in her second start as a member of the Thunder.

Trine retunrs to action Wednesday, Oct. 8 when they travel to Kalamazoo for a 7 p.m. match.
