ANGOLA, IND.-- Trine and Calvin battled to a 0-0 draw in MIAA-action Saturday afternoon at Weaver Field.

Skyler Reed (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) turned in a solid effor in net to earn her fourth shutout of the season- the most in a single-season at Trine since the school joined NCAA Division III in 2004. The junior made 11 saves, including several sprawling stops to keep the Knights off the board. Calvin outshot Trine a 24-7 margin. The Thunder are now 4-7-2 overall, and 2-6-2 in the MIAA. The Knights are 5-6-2 overall, 4-4-2 in conference matches.

The two teams played nearly even through the first 45-minutes of play. Calvin held a 6-5 lead in shots at the half, but took control in the second half. Trine's best scoring opportunity came in the second half when Mariah Fenimore (Rushville, Ind./Rushville) got loose on a long run into the box, but Knight keeper Jenna Shelton made the save.

The Knights outshot Trine 18-2 over the course of the second half and both overtimes, but Reed was equal to the task in goal and the Thunder defense was able to clear away rebounds and limit quality opportunities.

Trine returns to action this Tuesday, Oct. 14 when they travel up to Hope to face the Flying Dutchmen at 5 p.m.
