ALMA, Mich.-- The Trine women's soccer team closed out its season with a 2-0 loss at Alma Saturday afternoon.
Jessica Burg and Bryn Kittle each scored to provide all the scoring the Scots would need. Allison Smith and Whitnee Foote added assists. Kelsey Potsema and Becca Gamble combined on the shutout for Alma.
Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) made seven saves in net for the Thunder. Veljovic led the MIAA with 124 saves this season, while her .800 save percentage tied for third in the league. She recorded the sixth-most saves in a season in team history.
Burg scored off a pass from Foote at the 31:42 mark of the match for what would prove to be the game-winner. Kittle added her goal off a corner kick by Smith just over 10 minutes into the second half.
Alma outshout Trine by a 19-6 margin.
The Thunder concluded the season with a 2-15-1 overall mark, 1-14-1 in conference play. Alma finished the season 8-8-1 overall, 7-7 in MIAA matches.
