ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's soccer schedule is now available, the team announced Wednesday.
The Thunder open the season with a home match against Anderson (Ind.) Thursday, Sep. 1. For the second straight season, Trine will be opening its season under the lights of Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium with a 7 p.m. kickoff. Special events are being planned around the match and will be announced at a later date. The Thunder will also host Illinois Tech to round out its non-conference slate.
MIAA matches make up the entirety of the rest of Trine's schedule, with 16 conference matches on tap. The Thunder will face every conference opponent both at home and on the road. The home part of the league schedule includes Saturday afternoon matches against Adrian, Olivet and Alma.
The beginning of conference play sees Calvin and Kalamazoo come to Weaver Field for two-straight home matches for Trine. The Thunder will play its first four matches of the season in front of the home fans at Trine University.
Trine concluded last season with an overall record of 2-15-1. The Thunder placed ninth in the MIAA. The team is expected to return the bulk of a young roster after graduating just four seniors.
