Special Events Planned for Women's Soccer Opener

ANGOLA, Ind. -- Special events are being planned for the Trine women's soccer team's home opener next week.

The seasons kicks off Thursday, Sep. 1 at 7 p.m. as the Thunder host Anderson (Ind.) in the team's only match of the season in Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium. A pregame party for students will feature activities including corn hole, bubble soccer, kan jam and spike ball. The pregame party begins at 5 p.m. in the stadium.

Halftime will feature a competition for various prizes. Additional athletic spirit giveaways are also planned throughout the evening.

This will be the second-straight season Trine has opened the season with a night match in Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium. Last season, the Thunder captured a 3-1 victory over Manchester in front a large opening-night crowd.

Trine projects to return eight players who earned at least one start last year. An incoming class of 15 freshman will supplement the returners.
