Thunder Drop Road Contest to Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. -- The Trine women's soccer team was defeated by Olivet 3-0 in a MIAA match Tuesday afternoon at Cutler Athletic Complex.

Isabelle Leon factored in all three Comet goals, scoring twice and adding an assist. Ashley Romanowski added a goal and assist. Olivet's victory denied the Thunder a chance to move into fourth place in the conference. Trine fell to 2-4-2 overall, 2-4 in MIAA matches. The Comets improved to 5-2-1, 3-1-1 in conference play.

Leon and Romanowski combined on the first two Olivet goals. Leon stuck first off with a shot from three yards out to the far post, with Romanowski picking up the assist at the 5:44 mark. Leon picked up the helper on Romanowski's tally just over 10 minutes later.

The Comets picked up another insurance tally with 10:26 to play with Leon's final tally of the contest. Maya Prewitt picked up the assist.

Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso, Ind. / Valparaiso) made eight saves in net for Trine. Brooklyn Burel stopped all seven Thunder shots on goal to earn the shutout.

Kristen Reece (Indianapolis, Ind. / Roncalli) and Marisa Robinett (Auburn, Ind. / DeKalb) each had two shots on goal for Trine.

The Thunder return to action Saturday, Sep. 24 at home. Trine will host Adrian, with kickoff scheduled for noon.
