Trine Women Fall to Albion

ANGOLA, Ind. The Trine women's soccer team lost to MIAA foe Albion 3-0 Thursday at Weaver Field.

Albion outshot the Thunder 13-4, and had five corner kicks to Trine's zero. The Thunder did have more saves (3) than the Britons (2).

Jenna Urso got the scoring started for the Britons, beating the keeper to the ball to put it in the net in the 44th-minute. Albion added two more in the second half, one in the 58th-minute, when Kayla Paquette buried a feed from Domenique Sarnecky in the top of the net, and another in the 82nd-minute, when Alyssa Brooks also buried a shot in the top of the net, but from outside the penalty area.

Morgan Sanderson (Leo, Ind. / Leo) got her first career start in goal, saving three shots before being replaced by Khrystyna Thompson (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Lakewood Park Christian) halfway through the 68th-minute. Megan Bricely pitched the shutout for the Britons, registering two saves.

Marisa Robinett (Auburn, Ind. / DeKalb) had two shots for Trine, while Carly Osinski (Noblesville, Ind. / Guerin Catholic) and Erica Hoot (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Carroll) each had one. The Thunder fell to 3-10-2 (3-10 MIAA) on the season. Urso and Alex Radzville each had three shots for Albion. Paquette and Molly Hancock both notched an assist. The Brits improved to 7-6-2 (6-6-1 MIAA).

The Thunder return to action Saturday, October 22, when they face off with Olivet at Weaver Field. The scheduled start time is noon.
