Women's Soccer Falls at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Trine women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Adrian on a chilly, rainy Wednesday evening at Docking Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs tallied twice after halftime to earn the victory. Carlin O'Malley and Sofia Farah each scored for Adrian. The Bulldogs held an 18-8 edge in shots. The Thunder fell to 4-11-2 overall, 4-11 in MIAA play. Adrian improved to 6-10-1 overall, 4-9-1 in conference matches. 

O'Malley scored just over 11 minutes into the second half to put the Bulldogs up 1-0. The goal was her first of the season. Kirsten Chambers picked up the assist. 

Farah added her sixth goal of the season in the 72nd-minute off a free kick from just outside the box. 

Haley Barnes earned the shutout with six saves in net. Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso, Ind. / Valparaiso) made six saves in 79:26 of action for Trine. Khrystyna Thompson (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Lakewood Park Christian) added one save. 

The Thunder will close out the season this Saturday, Oct. 29 at home against Alma. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
