FREELAND, Mich. -- Trine's Gigi Jarratt has been named to the All-MIAA Second Team, the conference announced today.
Jarratt (Valparaiso, Ind. / Valparaiso) earned recognition for her stellar work in the midfield for the Thunder this season. The junior started all 18 matches, scoring one goal and adding an assist. Her goal, scored in a 2-0 victory over Saint Mary's, proved to be a game-winner. This is the first all-conference selection of Jarratt's collegiate career.
Jarratt has provided steady play as a midfielder over the past three years. She has totaled a goal and assist in each season. Jarratt has started 37 consecutive matches, including every match each of past two seasons. The junior has totaled 4311 career minutes on the pitch, the ninth-most by any Trine player since the Thunder joined the MIAA in 2004.
Led by Jarratt, Trine recorded its most wins as a member of the MIAA this season. The Thunder swept Saint Mary's and captured conference victories over Albion and Olivet. In addition to her game-winner against the Belles, Jarratt assisted on the game-winning goal at Albion.
The Thunder concluded the season 4-12-2 overall and 4-12 in conference play. More than 80 percent of the team's scoring output came from underclassmen.
