ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine women's soccer team lost to Calvin College by the score of 3-0.
Both teams had early opportunities to score. The first chance for Trine came in the 13th minute of the match. Sophomore Kirsten Godfrey (Fort Wayne/Homestead) took a shot from just outside the box forcing the Calvin goalkeeper to make a diving save. Sophomore Morgan Sanderson (Leo/Leo) scooped up the rebound, reset and fired a shot of her own, but Calvin's goalkeeper once again made a save this time covering it and ending the threat.
The Knights, on their ensuing possession, would capitalize with Camie Rietberg putting shot in from the top of the box.
Calvin would add two more goals throughout the game, one in the last minute of the first half and one in the closing minutes of the match, to make the final score 3-0.
The Thunder will next compete at home on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 1:00 p.m. when they face Saint Mary's College.
