ALMA, MICH. – The Trine women's soccer team was defeated by Alma College by the score of 1-0.
The first half of the match saw both teams playing stout defense. Neither team would get more than five shots in the half. The game entered the intermission with the score 0-0.
It did not take long for that to change after halftime. In the 48th minute Alma's Amanda Miadenovski would score the lone goal of the match.
The Thunder were largely stymied in the game by the Alma defense. Sophomore Morgan Sanderson (Leo/Leo) was the consistent exception, ending the evening with a team high six shots with three coming on goal.
Senior Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso/Valparaiso) once again played the entire match in goal making five saves along the way.
Trine's next match will take place Saturday, Sept. 30, at 12:00 p.m. when they return home to face off against Hope College.
