ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine women's soccer team was defeated by Alma College today by the score of 2-0.
Trine's defense spent most of the game playing strongly. The Thunder held the Scots off the board for the first 74 minutes of the game. Senior goalkeeper Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso/Valparaiso) made 11 saves on the day to lead the defensive effort.
The Scots would find the back of the net twice in the second period with Whitnee Foote accounting for one of those goals and assisting on the other. The two goals were enough to give the Scots the 2-0 win in the contest.
Sophomore Morgan Sanderson (Leo/Leo) tallied the Thunder's best offensive chance when she forced the opposing goalkeeper to make a save from inside the box.
Trine will finish off the season with an away contest on Monday, Oct. 30 at 5:00 p.m. when they face off with Hope College.
