RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Trine University women's soccer team held host Indiana University East scoreless for 105 minutes before losing 1-0 in double overtime.
Through the entirety of regulation and the first overtime period the Thunder stayed even with Red Wolves offensively coming away with 10 shots, five coming in goal. Freshman Jilliam Rejczyk (Wauconda, Ill. / Wauconda) played well in goal making five saves before allowing by the decision making goal.
The lone goal of the contest came with just over four minutes left in the final overtime period. Indiana East player Evie Stepaniak came away with the goal and also led her team with three shots on the day.
Junior Kristen Reece (Indianapolis / Roncalli) led the Thunder offensively finishing the game with three shots on the day.
Following the loss Trine finds themselves with a 1-1 record. They will continue competition when they travel to face Rose-Hulman on Friday, Sept. 7.
