Morgan Sanderson Breaks Records in Loss to Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio -- Junior Morgan Sanderson (Leo /Leo) became the Trine University career goal and points leader, but women's soccer dropped the match to host Heidelberg, 2-1.

Sanderson scored the teams lone goal just under 11 minutes into the contest. The goal gives her 35 career points and 15 career goals. Both tallies are career highs for Trine women's soccer during the NCAA Division III era.

The Thunder would take the 1-0 lead into the intermission.

The Student Princes found their offense during halftime and it showed itself in the 64th and 66th minutes of the contest as the team tallied two goals in two minutes. The goals gave the team a 2-1 lead which was enough for the victory.

Trine falls to 3-4 following the loss. They will look to bounce back when they host Anderson on Wednesday, September 19. The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
