Thunder Dropped by Nationally-Ranked Flying Dutch

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Trine University women's soccer team held 17th ranked Hope College scoreless for 60 minutes but ended up losing by the score of 4-0.

Freshman Ahdrin Bordner (Delaware, Ohio / Delaware Hayes) got her second start in goal and finished the first 60 minutes of play with 10 saves and a shutout bid.

It came to an end in the 62nd minute when the Flying Dutch broke the stalemate. Over the next ten minutes, Hope would score three more goals to take the commanding 4-0 final lead.

Trine's best opportunity to score came in the 71st minute when, following a Hope foul, junior Marisa Robinett (Auburn / DeKalb) took a free kick and forced the keeper to make a save.

The Thunder fall to 3-11-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. They will continue their season by hosting Calvin College on Saturday, October 13 in Zollner Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin noon.
