Women's Soccer Stumbles in New York

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Trine University women's soccer team fell to host Buffalo State College in their third contest of the season by the score of 6-0.

The Thunder struggled to stop the Bengals offensive attack as the opposition scored what would be the game-winning goal in just the ninth minute of the contest.

Offensively for Trine freshman Veronica Ocampo (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial) led the team with four shots, two of which were on goal. Sophomores Mia Schlueter (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Carrol) and Kayla Dennewitz (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville Central) along with junior Courtney Reece (Indianapolis, Ind. / Roncalli) each also put a shot on goal for the team.

The team falls to 1-1-1 on the season following the loss. They will continue their season tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 7 when they face off in a neutral-site contest against Baldwin Wallace University. The contest hosted by Buffalo State is set to start at 4 p.m.
