Women's Soccer Fail in Comeback Attempt

ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Trine University women's soccer team fell behind then came up short in their comeback attempt falling to Anderson University by the score of 2-1.

The lone goal in the first half came in the 32nd minute of play and gave Anderson the 1-0 lead. They would take that lead into the intermission.

The Ravens added to their lead just four minutes into the second half, taking a 2-0 nothing lead in the 49th minute.

The Thunder began their comeback attempt in the 71st minute of the contest. The goal came on an unassisted attack by junior Courtney Reece (Indianapolis, Ind. / Roncalli). The goal was her second of the season.

Sophomore Ahdrin Bordner (Delaware, Ohio / Rutherford B. Hayes) played the match in net for Trine and found herself under fire all night. She ended the contest having faced 12 shots with seven on goal. She ended the contest with five saves.

The team falls to 2-2-1 following the loss, while Anderson improves to 3-0. The Thunder will open the home portion of their schedule in their next match against Heidelberg University on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
