ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's soccer team guaranteed this season as the winningest in the program's NCAA Division III history by securing their seventh win of the season with a 4-0 victory over visiting Bluffton University.

"I couldn't be happier with the result tonight," said head coach Gary Boughton, "I felt it was important to finish the fall portion of our season on a high note, especially with all the work we've done over the last few months. The girls have worked incredibly hard, been incredibly discipline on and off the field, and our results speak to that."

The two teams started the contest with back and forth play, but the Thunder broke the stalemate with a terrific seven-minute run starting in the 28th minute.

Freshman Olivia Argentieri (East Amherst, N.Y.) got the ball rolling, netting the first goal to give the team a 1-0 lead. Classmate Taylor Noll (Anna, Ohio / Anna) added an assist on the attempt.

Just over three minutes later, Trine was awarded a corner kick. Sophomore Veronica Ocampo (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial) took the attempt and turned it into a great set-piece opportunity. Senior Courtney Reece (Indianapolis, Ind. / Roncalli) headed the ball past the goalkeeper to give the Thunder the 2-0 lead.

Then in the 35th minute, junior Riley Doll (Amherst, Ohio / Elyria Catholic) passed the ball up the field to a streaking Noll who finished off the play with the goal giving the team a 3-0 lead which they would take into the intermission.

The final goal for the Thunder came in the 78th minute of play. The goal was an amazing individual effort by junior Mia Schlueter (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Carrol) who worked her way by three defenders before netting the goal.

The win concludes the Thunder's fall season. The team finishes off that stretch with a 7-1 record while in the midst of a seven-game win streak.

"We need to build off of this. We know this is only the beginning for us, especially for this particular season. We've got a lot to build off of in offseason workouts, our freshmen have shown tremendous growth already," continued Boughton, "I'm immensely grateful to the Trine administration. They not only believed in us but provided our student-athletes with a fall season."
