Women's Soccer Has Two Named to All-Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The United Soccer Coaches have announced the 2021 edition of their NCAA Division III All-Region awards and the Trine University women's soccer team placed a pair of athletes on the list.

Freshman Teresa Ashbrook (Dewitt, Mich. / Dewitt) garnered first team honors, the first student-athlete to garner the award in the programs NCAA history, while classmate Ellie Price (Terre Haute, Ind. / Terre Haute North Vigo) became the second player to earn third team honors.

Ashbrook takes home the award following a record breaking first season. She finished the year with 39 points and 18 goals, both NCAA program records, and was selected first team All Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) by member coaches.

Price made an immediate impact on the defensive end of the pitch helping the team to finish with a program record 12 shutouts and aiding the team's keepers in finishing with a low 0.89 goals-against average.

The Thunder finished their season with their first appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship and as runners-up in the MIAA tournament. They finished with an overall record of 15-5-2, a program high win total.
