ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Trine University women's soccer team picked up a lopsided 4-0 victory over their hosts from Augustana (Ill.) College. Four different members of the team recorded goals in the contest.

The Thunder wasted little time getting themselves on the board with senior Veronica Ocampo tallying her first goal of the season. The first goal of the contest came in just the third minute of play.

The majority of the middle portion of the first half saw the team continue to pepper the opposition with shots, but the Vikings held firm defensively. Trine recorded 17 shots in the half with 11 coming on goal.

The defense broke in the final seven minutes of the half. Sophomore Mia Augustino scored the team's second goal in the 39th minute of the contest with freshman Andi Lipic setting up the shot and earning the assist.

Augustino followed up her goal by setting up another. In the 43rd minute she would pass the ball to sophomore Paige Skaff who recorded her first goal of the season to give the team 3-0 lead. The score held into the intermission.

Trine slowed the offensive attack in the second half, but still added their fourth goal in the 81st minute of the contest. This time junior Megan Davis scored the goal with freshman Delilah Taylor adding an assist. The 4-0 lead would go final ten minutes later.

The day was a dominating offensive performance by the team. By the end of the contest the Thunder outshot the opposition 24-1 and 15-0 in shots on goal.

Trine improves to 2-1 following the victory. They will return home for their next contest as they host Hanover College tomorrow, Sunday, September 11 for a 3 p.m. contest.
