Thunder Improve to 3-1 in MIAA

ADRIAN, MICH.-- The Trine women's tennis team defeated Adrian 6-3 for their second-consecutive MIAA-victory Wednesday evening at Adrian College.

The Thunder took a 2-1 lead after doubles behind wins in the no. 1 and 3 courts. Jessica Huhnke (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) and Lauren Schlueter (Akron, Ohio/Revere) took home a commanding 8-2 victory, while Marissa German (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) and Kaitlin Black (Crawfordsville, Ind./Southmont) combined for the 8-3 victory.

German and Huhnke also picked up victories in singles play. Huhnke remained perfect in MIAA-singles matches, going to 4-0 after a dominating 6-0, 6-0 victory. German's win was her third-consecutive victory in singles.

Lexi Mack (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) and Allison Marley (New Carlisle, Ind./New Prairie) added singles victories to help the Thunder clinch the match. Mack has now won three-straight in singles play, while Marley has won each of her last two conference matches.

Trine improved to 7-8 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA. Adrian is 8-7 overall, but 1-4 in conference matches.

The Thunder cap off a busy week when they travel to Hope this Saturday, Apr. 12 for a 1:00 p.m. match.
