Women's Tennis Sweeps Capital

COLUMBUS, OHIO-- The Trine women's tennis team swept Capital with a 9-0 victory Saturday afternoon on the Capital Tennis Courts.

Lexi Mack (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) remained unbeaten with 6-3, 6-1 victories in the no. 3 singles flight. Mack is now 3-0 on the season. Miranda Synesael (Williamsport, Ind./Seeger Memorial) and Marissa German (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) each improved to 3-1 on the season with their victories. Trine won their second-consecutive match to improve to 2-2 overall. Capital is now 0-2.

Erin Kwaske (Jackson, Mich./Western) rallied back after dropping the first set to win the in the tiebreaker at no. 1 singles for Trine. Kwaske has now won two-straight matches to improve to 2-2 on the season.

Freshmen Tarah Brennan (Allegan, Mich./Allegan) and Madison Hatkevich (Granger, Ind.) each added their second-consecutive wins in singles play for the Thunder.

Kwaske/Mack and German/Synesael combined for the doubles victories in the top two flights, while Hatkevich teamed with Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind.) for the win in the no. 3 court.

Trine will return to action this Thursday, Sept. 25 when they travel to Goshen for a match at 4 p.m.
