UPLAND, Ind.-- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by Taylor, 6-3 in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon at the TU Tennis Center.
Trine took two doubles points behind victories in the no. 2 and no. 3 flights. Marissa German (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) and Tarah Brennan (Allegan, Mich./Allegan) combined for the 8-3 victory to improve their record as a pairing to 1-1. Madison Hatkevich (Granger, Ind./Edwardsburg) and Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) picked up a tight 9-8 victory in the no. 3 court. Trine is now 4-4 on the season. Taylor improved to 8-8.
Chelsea Ort (Kendallville, Ind./East Noble) picked up her first collegiate singles victory by scores of 6-2, 7-5.
Trine returns to action Friday, Mar. 27 when they host Bethel at 3:30 p.m.
