MISHAWAKA, Ind.-- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by Bethel, 8-1 in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon.
Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) earned the lone victory for the Thunder, picking up the win in the no. 3 singles flight. Pass fought back after dropping the first set to even the score with a 6-4 win in the second set. Pass was able to prevail in the tiebreaker to earn the victory. She improved to 2-0 on the season. Trine is now 1-1 overall. Bethel improved to 5-2.
Pass and Madison Hatkevich (Granger, Ind./Edwardsburg) provided a tough test for their Pilot counterparts at no. 2 doubles, but were ultimately defeated by an 8-6 final.
Trine returns to action Monday, Sept. 28 with a match at Grace. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
