Thunder Drop Final Fall Match to LTU

ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by Lawrence Tech, 6-3 in the final fall match of the season for the Thunder.

A pair of doubles victories highlighted the performance for Trine. The duo of Madison Hatkevich (Granger, Ind./Edwardsburg) and Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) picked up the victory at no. 2 doubles by an 8-5 final. Hatkevich and Pass evened their record at 2-2 on the year.

Trine was also victorious at no. 3 doubles with Sloan Davis (Olivet, Mich./Olivet) and Kirstin Riise (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) combining on the 8-6 win. Davis and Riise also evened their record at 2-2. Davis and Riise are each playing their first collegiate tennis seasons.

Pass added a victory in the no. 3 singles flight with a 6-3, 6-2 winner over her opponent. The sophomore has started the season with strong play, winning three of her first four matches. She has won four of the first five singles matches of her career.

Trine's record fell to 1-3 with the loss. Lawrence Tech improved to 3-2 on the year.

The Thunder will resume play with the spring season. Conference play opens April 6 with a match at Adrian.
