ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's tennis team has announced its spring schedule for the 2016 season.
The spring season opens with three straight home nonconference matches, beginning Mar. 17 with a match against Ohio Northern. The Thunder will also host Bethel (Ind.) and Concordia (Mich.) as part of its nonconference slate. The nonleague schedule concludes with road trips to Taylor and Muskingum.
Trine will then enter the MIAA season looking to improve upon a fifth-place finish in the conference last season. The Thunder won four conference matches last season, a team-best mark since joining the MIAA. Trine finished the season 4-4 in league matches.
The team will host Saint Mary's, Alma, Olivet, Kalamazoo and Calvin for conference matches. Road trips during the MIAA season include Adrian, Albion and Hope.
This will be Trine's first season competing in the newly-constructed Ryan Tennis Center. The complex features two new tennis courts as well as a new plaza and seating area.
The Thunder concluded its fall season 1-3. Sophomore Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) notched a team-best 3-1 mark in singles matches while playing in the no. 3 flight. Trine is competing in its first season under new head coach Erin Kolar.
