ANGOLA, Ind.—The Trine University women's tennis team fell to Taylor University, 9-0, on Friday night at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center.
Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) dropped the first set at No. 3 singles, 6-4, to Corinne Hoffman. Pass bounced back with a 6-3 victory in the second, but Hoffman sealed the win in the tiebreaker, 10-3.
At No. 5 singles, Sloan Davis (Olivet, Mich./Olivet) was narrowly edged out in the first set, 7-5, to Courtney Clark. Clark completed the victory with a 6-3 mark in the second set.
Trine moves to 2-6 for the season. Taylor improves to 10-6.
The Thunder returns to action Tuesday, April 12 when it will play host to Saint Mary's. The first serve is schedule for 4 p.m.
