ALBION, Mich.-- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by Albion 8-1 in MIAA action Saturday afternoon at Ungrodt Tennis Center.
Carlee Richardson (La Grange, Ind. / LaGrange) picked up the lone Thunder point with a singles victory. The sophomore won in convincing fashion, winning sets by 6-0, 6-1 scores. Richardson evened her overall record at 3-3 and earned her first conference victory to improve to 1-1 in MIAA matches. Richardson continues to make an impact for Trine after joining the team in the spring.
Albion improved to 9-2 on the season with the victory. The Britons are 2-0 in conference play. The Thunder fell to 3-8 overall, 0-2 in MIAA matches.
Trine returns to action Tuesday, Apr. 12 when the Thunder host MIAA foe Saint Mary's at 4 p.m.
