ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by Ohio Northern 8-1 Saturday at Keith E. Busse / Steel Dynamics Athletic Recreation Center.
Sloan Davis (Olivet, Mich. / Olivet) and Hannah Cowen (Angola, Ind. / Angola) combined on the Thunder victory at No. 3 doubles. The duo combined for the 8-4 victory. Davis, a senior, was playing the final match of her Thunder tennis career. Davis and Cowen combined to earn two victories as a pairing this year.
Davis also provided a tough match at No. 6 singles. After dropping the first set, Davis rallied back with a 6-1 win in set two to force the tiebreak. She was unable to complete the comeback however, as Kirsten Adamson won the tiebreak 10-4.
Over the course of her season and a half as a member of the Thunder tennis team, Davis was a part of nine doubles victories and one singles win.
Trine concluded its fall season with a 1-4 record. The Thunder return to action with three matches on its spring-break trip to Orlando, Fla., Mar. 13-16.
