Women's Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match to Bethel

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by Bethel (Ind.), 6-3, in a non-conference match Wednesday evening in Keith E. Busse / Steel Dynamics Athletic Recreation Center.

Kyra Braun (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) continued her perfect start to the spring season with a victory at No. 6 singles. The freshman won by scores of 6-4, 6-4. She has won all four of her matches this spring for a 4-0 start to her collegiate career.

Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind. / Jefferson) added a singles victory in the No. 3 court. Pass blanked her opponent 6-0 in the first set before closing things out 6-4 in the second. Pass' victory was her second in a row.

Tarah Brennan (Allegan, Mich. / Allegan) and Kirstin Riise (Plymouth, Ind. / Plymouth) combined to earn the Thunder a doubles victory. The duo combined on an 8-5 victory in the No. 2 court. The two players earned the win in their first match as a pairing this season.

Bethel improved to 10-7 with the victory. Trine fell to 1-8 overall. The three wins for the Thunder over the Pilots marked an improvement from the fall match between Trine and the NAIA foe.
