Women's Tennis Tops Indiana Tech

ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine women's tennis team defeated Indiana Tech by the score of 7-2.

The Thunder came out of the doubles portion of the even already up by 2-1. Senior Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) and freshman Andrea Jordan (New Haven/New Haven) defeated their opponents in the No. 2 match by the score of 8-0. The Thunder won the No. 3 match by forfeit.

Trine would then win five out of the six singles matches to take the event. Pass picked up her second win of the event in the No. 2 match by scores of 6-1, 6-1. Junior Theresa Magenheimer (Indianapolis/Hamilton) came away with a victory in the No. 3 match (7-5, 6-3). Both Sophomore Kyra Braun (Portland/Jay County) in the No. 4 match and freshman Katie Simon (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) in the No. 5 match dispatched their opponents in straight points (6-0, 6-0). The Thunder won the No. 6 match by forfeit.

The contest marks Trine's final fall competition. They will next take the courts in March during the team's trip to Orlando, Fla.
