Trine Beats Oneonta 5-4

ORLANDO, FLA. -- The Trine University women's tennis team came out on top in another close match, yesterday, defeating SUNY Oneonta by the score of 5-4.

The match started in much the same way as the night before with both teams coming away with three wins in the singles portion of the competition. In the No. 3 match, senior Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind. / Jefferson) came through for Trine with a win 6-3, 6-0. In the No. 4 match sophomore Kyra Braun (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) came away with another win with scores of 6-3, 6-3. The final singles win came from freshman Delaney Keirn (Claypool, Ind. / Whitko) who needed a tiebreaker but pulled through 4-6, 6-0, 10-6.

With the score tied at 3-3, the match would be decided in the double portion. The team of Braun and freshman Katie Simon (Paw Paw, Mich. / Paw Paw) came away with a victory in the No. 3 match by the score of 8-3. Then in the No. 2 match Pass and freshman Andrea Jordan (New Haven, Ind. / New Haven) came up big with an 8-4 win giving the Thunder the 5-4 match win.

With the win, the Thunder improve to 6-3. They will continue Florida competition tonight at 7:30 p.m. with a match against Judson (Ill.) University.
