ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Trine University women's tennis team fell to Otterbein University by the score of 7-2.

The Thunder picked up one of their points in the doubles portion of the contest. Freshmen Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Tatum Matthews (Midland, Mich. / Herbert Henry Dow) took the No. 1 match in convincing fashion winning 8-2.

After entering the single portion of the contest trailing 2-1, but the Cardinals pulled away taking all but one of the remaining matches. Spirrison once again turned in a victory winning the No. 1 match with scores of 7-6 (7-4), 7-5.

Trine drops to 5-3 following the loss. They will finish off their spring break by facing off with Carthage College tomorrow, March 7 at 11:30 am.
